ST. PETERSBURG – Demolition has begun at the former K-Mart on 34th Street S, in the Skyway Marina District. In its place will rise the Addison at Skyway Marina, a 308-unit luxury apartment project by ContraVest of Altamonte Springs. The multi-million-dollar project is expected to be completed in June 2021.
Mayor Rick Kriseman, City Council member Steve Kornell and County Commissioner Ken Welch were among those who attended the July 11 groundbreaking at 3951 34th St. S.
Kriseman praised the district, at the city’s southernmost point amid waterfront neighborhoods and near Eckerd College, as ripe for development.
