A multifamily development that will bring 262 apartment units to Apopka is readying to begin construction.

Alfred Rembowski, the acquisitions director for Altamonte Springs-based ContraVest Development Partners, confirmed to Orlando Business Journal that the Addison Farms luxury apartment community to be built at 2828 Hooper Farms Road in Apopka will see construction begin in late April or early May. After that, it will take about 24 months until completion.

The project went before Apopka’s development review committee in February for final site plan approval.

ContraVest is contracted to buy the 16-acre parcel from the Nadena Watson Hooper Revocable Trust, the current owner, in April, Rembowski said. The land is just west of AdventHealth Apopka and the interchange of State Roads 429 and 414, and near the northeast shore of Lake Apopka.

“Probably the greatest attraction to the property for us was the one-of-a-kind frontage along Lake Apopka and the Lake Apopka conservation area … those amazing views don’t come along every day,” Rembowski told OBJ, also noting the property’s access to highway and nearby employment centers in Apopka’s rapidly growing industrial corridor.

Plans filed with the city show Kimley-Horn as the project’s engineering team, Maitland-based Charlan Brock Architects as the architectural team, Winter Garden-based Allen & Co. as surveyor and Orlando-based Libra Design Group as landscape architect.

The project is adjacent the 180-unit Harmon on the Lake multifamily development at 1951 S. Binion Road and the Vista at Waters Edge single-family development.
